Hello, friends! Come, let’s talk about the political issue in Laal Singh Chaddha. Yup, that’s right. Laal Singh Chaddha is not just a film anymore, it has become a political issue in the country.
For the last 2-3 weeks, there have been daily trends on Twitter about it. The sheer amount of debate on this film this year, hardly any other film has gone through it. There are loud calls to boycott this film. Aamir Khan has been declared Hindu phobic and anti-national.
On the other hand, some people are showering praises on this film. I for one loved this film. In my opinion, it is a must-watch film. But the Hindu phobia that’s being talked about it started with the film PK. The boycotts and the trolling, let’s look at them in depth, in this video. “Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, both films have recorded poor openings. “”Those who have come to watch Laal Singh Chaddha, you need to boycott it!””
A protest broke out at a mall in Jalandhar against this film. Alleging, that the film has hurt their religious sentiments “”If my actions have hurt someone, I am deeply apologetic about it, it was never my intention to hurt someone. “Patriot and Anti-National. There was a time when these were solemn words. Using these words meant something.
A Patriot would be someone we’re proud of. A brave Army officer, or a social worker who planted thousands of trees, or an activist fighting against social evils. Similarly, the words Anti-National and Traitor, had much gravitas. “Before I declare you a traitor and shoot you, get out of my sight. “When you heard the words anti-national and traitor, you would picture a person who might have leaked top military secrets to an enemy country, or a spy from an enemy country.
But nowadays, the certificates of being a patriot or an anti-national,are being distributed in bulks. He’s a traitor, she’s a patriot, you’re anti-national.You’re school friend turns out to be anti-national.If your neighbour opines on any matter, he too might be anti-national.The conditions are quite simple. If you are following the narrative of a particular political party, you get the certificate of being a patriot. And if you do anything to contradict the narrative, you are then declared a traitor. For example, take this person.he talks about genocide against a community.
Says derogatory things about women, and has even called for a boycott of our national flag, but neither is he in jail, nor has anyone called him anti-national.Because he talks in favour of the narrative of a particular political party. But think about it.A brilliant artist like Naseeruddin Shah, got labelled as anti-national.A few years ago there was an incident near Bulandshahr, where three cows were found dead. After this, a mob that was allegedly led by the Bajrang Dal,set a police station on fire. There were riots, vehicles were set aflame, there was gun firing, and Police Inspector Subhod Kumar Singh was killed in it.
A student Sumit Kumar was also killed then. The Additional Superintendent of Police, issued a statement after this incident, that “cow killers are our top priority.”The murder and rioting fell secondto catching the people who killed cows.Naseeruddin Shah was shocked by this incident,so he said,As an Indian, this worries him a lot.And this is why he was declared a traitor.Because saying such thingsgoes against the narrative of a particular political party.
Take Ravish Kumar’s example.Media’s job is to talk about the real issues. To highlight the problems in the country,so that they could be improved. When Ravish Kumar talks about issues such asinflation, unemployment, public universities, jobs, etc.,to highlight the problems,he is labelled as a traitor too.By doing his job he goes against the desired narrative.
Aamir Khan’s first controversy was similar. In an interview, he was asked, his opinion on the situation of the country.Had he answered, “All is well, all is well,”Everything is Perfect.there would have been no issues.Everything would have worked out for him.
But the problem was thathe answered that intolerance has been rising in the country.”There has been a growing sense of despondency, I would say,for the first time, Kiran says, “Should we move out of India?”She fears for her child, she fears for, you know, what the atmosphere around us will bewe’re scared to open the newspapers every day.
“Some people were enraged with his answer. How could he say that people are intolerant? They had to teach him a lesson, asking Snapdeal to cancel their brand deal with him.Calling for boycotts of his movies.Trolling him. These people who consider themselves to be tolerant, were offended to be called intolerant so they did this.
Or rather, it might have been thatpeople weren’t really that enraged, and instead, a narrative was created that Aamir’s statement had angered people.Later an ex-employee of the BJP IT Cell revealed, that the Chief of the BJP IT Cell had told his social media unitto set a narrative and run Twitter trends against Aamir Khan.
This all comes down to the narrative of one political party.Late superstar, singer Sidhu Moose Wala, wrote”Every day you’ll find controversy being created, you’ll find debates on religions,If you speak out the truth, you’ll get charged with Section 295 of the IPC,when you succeed, you’ll be hated.”And we can see this happening all around us.In the last few years, we have seen countless murders over this.Rationalist Narendra Dabholkar was murdered.Journalist Gauri Lankesh was murdered.
Kamlesh Tiwari was murdered.Tabrez Ansari was murdered.Pehlu Khan’s murder,Kanhaiya Lal was recently murdered in Udaipur. What were the reasons behind these murders?Because people committed the crime of expressing their views. They were murdered for their opinions.Or because of their identity. For a moment, forget about whether their opinions were right or wrong,right-wing or left-wing,The fact is thata person was killed, for expressing their views.
On one hand, we get to see videos wheresome orthodox Hindus take out rallieswith swords on Hanuman Jayantiand play anti-Muslim songs on their speakers. On the other hand, we get to see videos whereorthodox Muslims with stones in their hands, raise slogans calling for beheadings. There was a fatwa against A.R. Rahman oncebecause he had composed a song for a film whichwas based on the life of Prophet Mohammad.
The lynching on the Singhu border, was on the allegation of blasphemy. We saw death threats against Nupur Sharma and Zubair. The point I’m trying to make iswhat is this, if not rising intolerance in the country? And this isn’t limited to the fringe elements. This is done by the system as well.In Uttar Pradesh, the UP government registered an FIR,against journalist Pawan Jaiswal, because he revealed that school kids were being fed rotis with salt as their mid-day meal.Political satirist Nilesh Sharma was arrested by the Congress governmentin Chhattishgarh for his article.
Additionally, every other day, there is a boycott on something. Some company or some actor is always being boycotted.Companies like Haldiram and FabIndia were also boycotted.Friends, even Gandhi had called for a boycott against English goods, but what was his reason for the boycott?
Not because they used Urdu, not because of a mere opinion of a person.Along with Laal Singh Chaddha,Akshay Kumar’s film Raksha Bandhan was released. There were calls to boycott it too, because the writer of this filmhad participated in the protests against the CAA.
Facing regular threats on social media is becoming a norm.Apps like Bulli Bai are created.Daughters of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohliwere subjected to pathetic targetting. If someone looks at these incidents and concludesthat there is rising intolerance in the country, what’s wrong with it?Talking about the problems in the country is quite normal for a citizen.Until we discuss the problems, how will we be able to solve them? But no, some people wish to bury their heads in the sand like ostriches. They label the people speaking up as anti-nationals.
Telling them to leave the country if they have problems here.Rather than talking about them while living here.It is interesting to note thatthese people use the same logic to criticise me.They ask why I talk about the problems in our country when I don’t live here. They have a problem with people living in India and talking about the issues, They have a problem with people living outside India and talking about the issues, what can we do?
Should we just move to the Moon?Basically, the problem is that these people do not want to talk about the problems. And this attitude can be seen in many people. Many people look at this situationbut refuse to say anything. They want to peacefully exit the situation.Last month, it was revealed in the Lok Sabha, that a record number of Indianshave given up their citizenship last year.163,370 people. In the last 5 years, since 2017,about 932,000 people have given up their Indian citizenship.
There must be some reason why people are deciding to leave India. There must be some problems in India due to which people are leaving. It’s not like these people are moving to Syria or Iraq. They are moving to developed countries. In 2019,
India was on the second number following China,in terms of High Net Worth Individuals leaving the country. The super rich people. This number has been between 30,000 – 35,000 for the last 5 years. This shows that it is not merely an economic problem.People aren’t leaving the country simply to earn more in other countries.
They were already rich. The value of their wealth was much more in India. They are leaving the country due to other reasons. There’s a dire need to discuss these problems. The second controversy beganwhen Aamir Khan met Turkish President Erdoğan,I have made a video on Erdoğan,Erdoğan is a politician whouses religion to mislead people and get them to vote for him.
The link to this video is in the description belowyou can watch it for more details.Aamir Khan had gone to Türkiye to shoot for his film, and he happened to meet the Turkish President there.Nothing wrong with it.People criticised this because Türkiye has not supported India in every issue, and Türkiye has issued statements on Article 370.But what’s wrong with that?Had India broken all its deals with Türkiye? In this photo, you can see,Prime Minister Modi hugging Erdoğan.The trade relations exist even now.
Every year, India exports goods for about $4.3 Billion to Türkiye.150 Indian companies, employ a total of 5,000 Turkish peopleand exist in Türkiye.Reliance Industries, Wipro, Dabur,Tata Motors, GMR, Mahindra.
This year, in June,Türkiye revealed that a record number of Indian tourists had visited Türkiye. Not only this, but in 2019,there was a festival in India and Türkiye.India By The Bosphorus. To honour cultural ties. These countries have political relations, trade relations, cultural relations, tourism, everything is pleasant between the two countriesbut if Aamir Khan met with the Turkish President when in Türkiye, during the shooting of his film,he is labelled a traitor.Does this make any sense?Think about it on a personal level.
Do you meet and form relations with only those peoplewith whom your opinions match 100%?And if your friends says something that you disagree with,do you break off your friendship? The same thing applies on an international level as well. The countries on friendly terms with India, does not agree with India on every issue.
They may have differing opinions. The statements may differ.Their stand on several issues may differ. The third and the biggest controversy herewas with the film PK.You would have already understood one thing, the root cause of the narrative of this patriotism and treachery. The root cause is religious politics.A particular political party wants to set their narrative. In the case of this film PK, the narrative was thatAamir Khan be declared Hinduphobic.
To label him Anti-Hindu.Simply for being the main lead in the film PK.The director of this film was Raju Hirani.A Hindu. The writer was Abhijeet Joshi,The producer was Vidhu Vinod Chopra.Music was composed by Shantanu Moitra,The female lead was Anushka Sharma,And Late Sushant Singh Rajput in a major role. All of them Hindus. But since they had to set a narrative, that this film was Anti-Hindu,only Aamir Khan was the target.
Tell me one thing honestly, friends, when you watched PK for the first time, when you watched it in the cinemas, did you find anything Hinduphobic in this film? When you came out of the theatres after watching this film, did you think that this was an Anti-Hindu film?Be honest. You did not think so.It was because the narrative was set later.
When the IT Cell ran with this trend on social media,to set the narrative, then you might have felt thatthis film might be Anti-Hindu.There’s a comedy scene in this film,an actor in the filmdressed up as Lord Shivaand the lead character of the film, PK,since he is an alien, he could not understand this basic thingthat he was not the real Lord Shiva.Rather a mere drama actor dressed up as Lord Shiva.PK chased after this actorand the brunt of the joke is PK’s ignorance. We laugh at this scene becauseof PK’s reaction to the situation. And when this scene was played in the cinema hall, everyone in the audience was laughing at that.It was a simple joke understood by all.
But a week later, when an FIR was registered against this film, people were told to be offended by this film, that they are not real Hindus if they are not offended by the scene. Then people started feeling offended. To protect their identity as Hindus, they too were now offended by the scene.Ironically, the joke in the film, became the reality. The joke in the film was thatPK could not differentiate between the real Lord Shiva and the actor. And if someone files an FIR regarding this scene, the joke is on them.Because they too could not differentiate between the real Lord Shiva and an actor.
Another scene of the film that was subjected to controversywas a truly great scene in my opinion, showed how fear is usedto turn religion into a business.Ask yourself, does this not happen in real life? These ‘Wrong-Number Saints’,what else do they do?They use religion and spin you false tales, invoke fear in you,and use it to run their business.”Who is this PK?Is he Parvez Khan?”Going to temples or mosques isn’t wrong.
Donating to temples and mosques isn’t wrong either. But the film PK teaches usthat wherever you can see a business in the name of religion, you need to be cautious.People like Nirmal Baba who tell their followers,to eat samosas with green sauce to be blessed.Despite hearing all this,if you still think PK is an Anti-Hindu film,I’d like to ask you,What about Swami Dayanand Saraswati?
The founder of the Arya Samaj. He went as far as to say that idol worshipping is wrong. And what about Swami Vivekananda? He opposed rituals in no uncertain terms.I talked about this in the video on Swami Vivekananda. Will you label them Anti-Hindus?
Criticising an aspect of the religion,or criticising something associated with the religion,is it enough to be Anti-Hindu?The thing is that they’re trying to create a situationand fabricate a narrative. And do you know what’s interesting?
If you are given the task to fabricate a narrative, you can label any film as Hinduphobic.Take any random picture, and you can call it Anti-Hindu.Even if there is the tiniest mention of Hinduism. You might not believe this, but pictures like Sholay, those which were super hits and all-time popular films, people are discovering Anti-Hindu elements in them today. No one had a problem with this film for 30 years. But now a person from the IT Cell has popped up saying thatit is Anti-Hindu.
Because in a scene, the character Basanti goes to a temple of Lord Shiva, and the character Veeru was hiding behind the walls of the temple, and pretends to be Lord Shiva.”It is I, Lord Shiva! My Lord, you? It’s a miracle!”Then he proposed his name as a romantic interest. The joke here is the naivety of Basanti.Basanti’s ignorance is the joke. Then Jai shows Basanti that Veeru was hiding behind the temple. You won’t believe this, even this has been declared Anti-Hinduby the people fabricating the narratives.”Take Sholay for example,in it, Dharmendra has been shown to be standing behind Shiva’s idolto manipulate Hema Malini into a romantic relationship with him.
“Related to this, there’s a Malayalam film Trance,in it, the corporatisation of Christianity has been shown.”Hallelujah!”How religion is being used to con people.Even in this film, Christianity is not being disrespected, but the people exploiting Christianity to con people, are being criticised.
But if people from all religions start behaving in such a manner, claiming that the film is mocking Christianity,or mocking Hinduism, progress in the world will come to a standstill. On Diwali, you see the phrase ‘Say No To Crackers’ everywhere.Because these firecrackers cause pollution. It’s quite common, when I was in school this was taught in all schools.
And children used to listen to it.Some adhered to this, and some didn’t.But no one had any problems with this slogan. But when the same thing is repeated nowadays, people are declared Anti-Hindu,that saying ‘Say No To Crackers’ is Anti-Hindu.If you simply connect something to religion, you cannot criticise it anymore.Because criticising it would be Anti-Hindu.It is not only in India. This phenomenon is seen all over the world.
For example, an Iranian filmmaker, Jafar Panahi. He made the film Offside, showing how girls aren’t allowed to watch football matches.Again, he was criticising something which was associated with religion. It is obviously wrong. But he was criticised for this film in Iran. And the Iranian government banned his film.By calling this film Anti-Islam.
Here, I’d like to recommend a book related to religion,The God Delusion.Written by ethologist Richard Dawkins. You can listen to this book as an audiobook on KUKU FM.KUKU FM is a brilliant platform for audio learning,on which you can find many such books to listen to.They have an extensive library on Bollywood and politics.
They have audiobooks on Shahrukh Khan and Irfan Khan.Normally, the cost to access their entire library is ₹400,But if you use the coupon code DHRUV200,you will get ₹200 off,so the annual cost for you will be ₹199 only. The link to it is in the description below. You can go check it out.Now let’s get back to the topic. You will not see these things in developed countries.Because thankfully, people are open-minded there.Perhaps that’s why those countries are so developed.
In European countries and in America, you can make anything against Jesus Christ or Christianitybut no one bats an eye.Horror movies like The Nun,films on Jesus, such as The Passion Of The Christ. The last and final thing, the answer people give after hearing these arguments, even if they are willing to accept that I am right, that there’s nothing offensive in these films, they ask why Aamir Khan targets Hindus only. Why does Aamir Khan find fault in Hinduism?
Why does he not criticise Muslim society?Well, the answer to it is quite simple,as it is shown in the film PK.How he is running away from a mosque with a wine bottle in hand, trying to save himself.”-What do you have there? -Wine.-For God.-Where is He?”They say that Hindus have been focused on morewhile Muslims have been shown for a few seconds. But Aamir has an entire film Secret Superstarshowing how a girl from a Muslim householdbecomes a superstar.
How she fights against conservativism. And what about the movies like Earth 1947 and Sarfarosh? In fact, take Laal Singh Chaddha. If you have already watched this film in the cinemas, you would know thatthis film criticises the Islamic ‘Wrong Number Leader’.The people who brainwash others to become terrorists.
Promising them that they would meet angels in Heaven. This film clearly mocks these. But those who are concerned about setting the narrative, they’ll remain silent about these scenes.Because they simply want to create an image. That Aamir Khan is Anti-Hindu.Had the same people gotten instructions from their superiorsthat they have to depict Aamir Khan as Anti-Muslim,they would have highlighted these films only, and would have ignored his other content. It is very unfortunate thatI have to make a video explaining these.
I have 2 big reasons.First is that today Aamir Khan is being targetted, tomorrow someone else would be.So it’s better that you understand now how the narrative is fabricated.First Munawar Farooqi was targetted, then Carryminati.I made a video then explaining the same things in detail. The second and perhaps the bigger reason is thatI love Aamir Khan’s films.
No one has paid me to make this video.I am making this because films like 3 Idiots and PK,are genuinely my all-time favourites.Films like 3 Idiots and Dangal, have inspired millions of peopleto do something they are passionate about. In fact, these films have had a major impact on my life too.Apart from this, one thing that I love is thatAamir Khan’s films have entertainment with social messages. For the benefit of society at large.Taare Zameen Par talked about Dyslexia. They raised the issue of Child Psychology.
Women empowerment in Dangal. The message in Laal Singh Chaddha is deeper than the ones in other films,On one hand, this film shows innocence, about how once we grow up, we forget the real aim of life.In the rush to earn a living, we forget to live life.As shown by Kareena Kapoor’s character.Second, it forces you to thinkif the circumstances in your lifedecide your future,or would you craft your future?Often, motivational speakers tell youthat they write their own destiny.
That they choose their paths. That no one can dictate what happens in their lives. But in reality, there are some thingsthat will always be out of your control. This complexity has been beautifully shown in this movie. This film is the official remake of Forrest Gump.I watched that 4 or 5 years ago,I loved that film too.But I liked Laal Singh Chaddha morebecause this is based in an Indian setting.
So people of the current generation can relate more to it.Indians can relate more to it.It has been a long time since Forrest Gump was madeand the events shown in it are even older.I believe that films like Forrest Gump should be remade in every languageso that people from all countries can relate to the essence of the film.Anyway, I won’t give you too many spoilers.I don’t want to ruin the movie for you in case you haven’t watched it already.I would say that if you watch this movie it will be worth it.There are films that fill you with angerand hatred against some people. This film is the exact opposite of it.After watching it, you appreciate people more.
You feel good towards humanity. Finally, I’d like to say thatthe actions of Aamir Khan in his life, apart from being an actor, fits more into the category of a Patriot. His non-profit organisation Paani Foundationhas helped more than 4,000 drought-affected villages in Maharashtrato get water.Shows like Satyamev Jayate, raised several social issues, and spread awareness among the masses.
Despite all of it, if you still think he should be labelled Anti-National, you need to get some perception. Share this article with your family and friends, especially with the people who have been brainwashed by this narrative. Those who find Hindu phobia and Anti-Hindu elements in every thing. So that they could come to terms with reality. Thank you very much!
